Working Families Party Campaign Camp

As working-class communities continue to be crushed under the weight of stagnant wages, rising costs of living, mounting debt, environmental calamities, and the dismantlement of long-established rights and protections — this is a time to organize, mobilize, and empower each other to rise up in sustained mass resistance.

That’s why the Working Families Party is really excited to announce their new program — WFP Campaign Camp — designed to provide grassroots organizers and activists with the tools they need to win elections and continue fighting for the poor, the working class, and the marginalized in moments like this. Join WFP staff and other campaign experts for free in-depth modules on how to turn movement energy into real electoral and legislative power.

In order to fight back and turn popular demands like codifying abortion rights, abolishing the filibuster, and expanding the court into government policy — we need to build up our own organized mass movement. We need to invest in each other, and share the knowledge and expertise of what allows us to win, and keep building up the power of the multi-racial working-class party we are crafting together.

This session covers the following concepts: Covering what makes a good candidate, the role of a candidate in a campaign, as well as how to find and recruit good candidates where we need them and prepare them to run in the future. We will also contextualize WFP as a political party, debunk some myths about winning an election, and map out how to get a campaign started.
